How did the magic of Hungry Howie's begin?
The year 1973 saw the flavours burst on the Telegraph Road in Taylor, Michigan when the first branch of Hungry Howie's was opened by James Hearn, which interestingly attracted many students of the nearby Taylor Junior High and Taylor Center High school, who turned the branch into a hangout spot.
Hungry Howie's saw lovely nine years of love and support by the students and the residents, and it was in 1982 that James Hearn partnered up with Jackson to turn their comparatively small business into a franchise. That is how in 1983, the first franchise of Hungry Howie's was awarded.
Hungry Howie's was on fire with the ownership of the company's franchise in 65 different locations, which soon grew to 160 to be later remarked as a memorable achievement with the 500th store in the United States by 2005.
Hungry Howie's truly represents itself as the “Home of the Flavored Crust Pizza” in an attempt to bring the ocean of flavours to the taste buds that you have never tried before.
The lively idea was born in a Hungry Howie's franchise that used to put sesame seeds and butter on the pizza's crust, which got much attention from their pizza lovers. Besides great taste, Hungry Howie's has been campaigning dedicatedly since 2009 for the support and awareness of the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) under Love, Hope & Pizza.
They promote the campaign by selling pizzas in Pink coloured boxes during the whole month of October and donate part of the income made through those pink boxes to the foundation of NBCF. As a result, they donated over $3 million to the foundation as of the data represented according to stats of September 2020.
Another pledge Hungry Howie's made the same year of 2020, in September, was to donate every pink pizza box under NBCF’s Covid-19 relief fund. They also encouraged the customers the donation by adding the donation option on their website for the rest of the year 2020.
